It’s time for my second GirlBoss Spotlight! I am SO excited to introduce you to Kaitlin! I’ve been following her for about a year after I first met her in a coffee shop last Summer! Her bright, uplifting personality instantly struck me and I knew I had to give her a follow on social media after that! Since then, I’ve made sure that I read and watch every post she makes because they are always so encouraging, raw, and REAL! I highly recommend giving her a follow (Facebook, Instagram)
Kaitlin has several exciting businesses and projects she is working on: she is a speaker and a writer, she has a faith-based blog, she’s the co-founder of a card company, and recently, an author (her book will be released SOON!) I can’t wait for you to get to know Kaitlin better! So without further ado, let’s meet this awesome GirlBoss!
Tell me a little more about your businesses! I run my own personal website, kaitlinchappellrogers.com, where I blog and share my faith. I started blogging my senior year of college, 2013, but I got really serious with my writing in 2017 and purchased my own website. I am also the co-founder of Mizpah Card Co. with my best friend, Elizabeth Griffith! Elizabeth and I started Mizpah earlier this year, 2018!
Who do you serve in your business? As a writer, I serve women, predominately 18 – 30 years old. However, I hear from women of all ages who read my posts. I write to remind women they are not alone and the answer to everything is always Jesus.
With Mizpah Card Co., Elizabeth and I create greeting cards, logos, and prints to help customers celebrate all the special moments in life, big or small. We really want people to celebrate something every day! We create baby shower cards, birthday cards, anniversary cards, and wedding invitations. We love creating custom designs for women and men looking for something special for the people in their lives!
How did you start your business? I have always been a writer – it is my number one passion in life. So, writing has been a lifetime journey for me, and I really feel like the best is yet to come. I have also always had a dream of starting a greeting card company. I am no graphic designer, so when I became friends with Elizabeth, our dreams collided! My words + her designs = some pretty adorable, quirky cards! We prayed about starting Mizpah for one year. We came up with the idea during our church’s 21 Days of Prayer in 2016. In 2017, we heard God loud and clear when He said, “go.”
Do you have a Mission Statement? My mission for myself as a writer is: “Remind women of their worth, restore broken minds, hearts, and relationships, and repair bridges that have been burned between generations, groups, and girlfriends.”
Our mission statement for Mizpah is simply “Celebrate each other.” The world can be a harsh place, so we want to propel people to spread love, drop comparison, and celebrate!
Tell me a little bit about your family! I am married to the love of my life and my very best friend, Caleb Rogers. He is my exact opposite and really my better half. He keeps me calm, grounded, and at peace. He is always my biggest fan and safe place to land. We love road trips and really good food and we are currently on a mission to visit all the Major League ballparks in the United States!
What would your ideal evening/weekend would look like? I love curling up at a cozy lake house and writing all weekend. Ideally, my husband would be there to snuggle up with me and cook me a few of his gourmet meals. Oh, and an endless supply of coffee is a must. Being tucked aways and relaxing with no phone service sounds perfect to me.
As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? I have always, always wanted to be a writer. When I was little, my friends would come over to play and I would hold illustration contests. I would have them compete for a spot to illustrate the short story I had just written! I’m sure people just LOVED coming over to play ha!

If I asked your closest friends to describe you in 3 words, what words would they choose? I asked them! Here are the top 3: Adventurous, vibrant, passionate
Do you have any hidden talents? I can kinda sing like Cher… it’s weird.
Coffee or tea? ALL THE COFFEE
Wildflowers or succulents? Wildflowers
What is one thing you are currently OBSESSED with? Two things: Noonday Collection jewelry and Young Living essential oils!
What is on your travel bucket list? I have a long list, but I would LOVE to go to Bali!
If you could get coffee with anyone, dead or alive, who would you choose? Oprah, all day.
Do you have any role models/mentors? My spiritual mentor is Katie Wilson. We are actually co-writing a book together! I admire her love for God and the way she worships Him with every single part of her life.
Can you share a little bit about a challenge you have faced and how you overcame that challenge? In the writing world, a big challenge in getting published is your “platform.” Social media followers and email subscription lists are a big deal and that has been a huge challenge for me. Again, I just want to write! But, I have learned that the only way to overcome the challenge is to let it go. I know God has perfect timing and He is the only one who can really give anyone a “platform.” I have stopped worrying about numbers and, instead, I focus on each soul I am reaching for His glory.
What would you say is your biggest strength? My biggest strength is my personality. I can talk to anyone, and I do! I love meeting people and hearing their stories. My love for people is what keeps me going.
What is one thing/accomplishment you are particularly proud of in your business? I mentioned that I am releasing my first book. My goal for as long as I can remember has been to publish a book by age 25. I didn’t think it would look like self-publishing a small devotional, but God knew! I am really proud of myself for putting my words out there and actually writing a book! I also recently signed with a writing agent, which is incredibly exciting!

If you could rewind 10 years, what is one thing you would tell your younger self? I would tell young Kaitlin to stop worrying about what people think and just be. Embrace who God made you to be and do what you are called to do, no matter what anyone thinks.
Do you have any advice for someone who is interested in pursuing a field similar to yours? Just write. Write in the nooks and crannies of your day. Write when you wake up. Write before bed. Just do the thing. It is easy to get discouraged, but don’t. You are the only one who can accomplish your dream, so make it happen. Don’t let anything – time, money, other people – stop you. And don’t do it alone! Find a community of people who love to write too and write with them! Go to writing retreats, meet at coffee shops, and have them edit your work. Collaboration is a big key in writing.
Any exciting projects you’re currently working on? Aside from releasing “Not From God,” I am also co-authoring a book with the mentor I mentioned earlier. We are finishing up a book proposal to send to publishers. Once that proposal is finished, I actually have a new writing project I am REALLY excited about, but I’m keeping it a secret!
Where can people find you?
