Rachael had me at “ceremony and reception on my grandparents’ farm”… then I met her and her mom via Facetime and instantly fell in love with sweet Rachael! During that Facetime call, I got to hear about hers and Roman’s story, how much she loves and respects Roman, and their hearts and convictions and I was so blown away. I got to hear about Rachael’s desire for her wedding to be relaxed, fun, and natural. She wanted her guests to just have fun in a relaxed atmosphere with yard games and board games, cupcakes, and dancing under the stars. Rachael and Roman wanted to think outside of the box, they aren’t scared of doing things unconventionally, and they chose to focus on what really mattered to them instead of doing just what is typically done at weddings. Rachael didn’t want to carry a bouquet or have an arbor of flowers and bows at the altar, but instead she wanted the natural beauty surrounding us to stand out. My goodness, I LOVE IT!
On the wedding day, I was struck by just how loved Roman and Rachael are… their family and their guests truly love and support this couple. There was absolutely no denying it. I was also struck buy how well Roman and Rachael loved and served their family and guests… even down to walking to each table at the reception to hand deliver a cupcake to each of their guests.
The wedding day was perfection. Everything you could hope for for an outdoor wedding in October. The temperature was incredible, the trees were starting to turn bright Fall colors, and the sunset was dreamy. Even after dark, all you needed was a light jacket. The stars were shining bright and everyone was soaking it all in, enjoying the evening.
I don’t know what I have ever seen such adoration in the eyes of a couple as I did with Roman and Rachael. And that is saying alot! But Roman and Rachael have something extra special. When they look at each other, the adoration is undeniable. It was such a joy to photograph their love.
Roman and Rachael, I am honored that you invited us to photograph such a special day in your lives. We love you guys! Enjoy a few of my favorite photos from your beautiful wedding day…
Rachael wore the shoes that her mom wore on her wedding day… These moments choked me up more than once… Roman and Rachael washed each other’s feet during the ceremony… the bench they sat on was made by Rachael’s great grandfather. The sweetest vows… I think we were all choking up at this point. That joy! I love it!! This group was seriously so. much. fun!!! A special request: “Can we do a 90’s band CD cover photo?“…. Yes, yes we definitely can! Such a FUN group of people!!! :-D Favorite! I seriously love that Roman and Rachael got married at her grandparents’ home. They incorporated so many special things into this wedding… Those wood posts were harvested off of the property before Rachael was even born! The sweets table made my mouth water… Like I mentioned earlier, Roman and Rachael wanted their reception to be laid back and fun! They had board games and yard games all over the place :-D The speeches were a sweet, hilarious, emotional, and everything inbetween… Father daughter and mother son dances always get me! Metropolitan Disc Jockey kept the dance floor full all night long!
