Here it is!! My BIGGEST blog of the year! Ya’ll, I have SO many photos for you guys today!  It’s my Favorite Wedding Photos from 2016 blog!  Much like yesterday’s blog, I had such a fun time going through tens of thousands of photos (not an exaggeration) from this year’s weddings to find my favorite photos of 2016. It took me all day yesterday to get this blog done, but I think it was worth it.

This year was such an amazing year… we got to document the most exciting day in 23 couples’ lives. In addition to shooting weddings in Huntsville and the surrounding areas, we also got to travel to Nashville, Pisgah, Auburn, and Cullman for 4 of our weddings.

We shot at new (for us) wedding venues and we even shot 4 weddings in 5 weeks at the same wedding venue (we love us some Burritt on the Mountain! ;) The thing about that was that it challenged me to try think outside of box and to think of new ways to shoot at the same location. Every year, we have a “most photographed venue”. This year, Burritt on the Mountain wins that title by a long shot! We really do love Burritt!

I’ve dubbed 2016 as my largest (number-wise) wedding party year. We had more large wedding parties this year than we have ever had in one year! I think that Andy and Lauren have officially won the largest wedding party of the year with 29 total people (not including the bride and groom). Wes and Kit were a close second with 26 people total (not including the bride and groom). So much fun!

We got to photograph in the rain a couple of times (thank God for clear bubble umbrellas!) Our “rainy wedding day” brides and grooms could not have been more delightful in the process! Rain couldn’t steal their joy! :) If you ask me, I think rainy wedding days make for some of the more memorable photos!  We also got to photograph romantic bride and groom portraits during some of the most stunning sunsets I’ve ever seen!

Some of the more “unique” weddings we photographed this year were two wedding ceremonies in one day – Indian and American ceremonies – at Dalton and Neena’s wedding and a brunch destination wedding. We’re also about to photograph Ryan and Hannah’s New Year’s Eve wedding tomorrow! We can’t wait to officially finish out our year with such a wonderful couple!

All in all, 2016 was one of our best years yet and we have our incredible clients to thank for it! Because of each and every couple featured in this blog, I am able to do what I love. I do not take that for granted. To all of my amazing brides and groom, it is an honor to be your wedding photographer. You are what made 2016 such a fun, sucessful year! I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!

One of my all time favorite photos of the year!  A prayer before the ceremony…      A beautiful First Dance as husband and wife under a stunning floral chandelier <3  *Bridesmaid dress envy* This food table setup was just so pretty, I had to include it on this blog!  A sweet First Look reaction…  Benjie and his groomsmen surprised all of us with this fun choreographed dance!  When birds fly over you at the perfect moment…  Lauren loved how twirly her dress was, so naturally we had to take some twirly photos :)  These groomsmen were so much fun!  My favorite Bridesmaids First Look of the year!   Father daughter First Looks melt my heart!  A glimpse of the bride through the window in the door just moments before she walked down the aisle…  Our biggest wedding party of the year (minus the flower girls and ring bearers)  Wes and Kit surprised us with this epic kiss halfway back down the aisle <3 I was one happy photographer!!  My “most liked photo on Instagram” ever!  The most beautiful sunset we saw all year!   I love Dalton and Neena’s sweet First Look!  Ribbons!  Another sweet First Look <3  A gorgeous brunch wedding in Nashville!  The groom and groomsmens’ football teams were playing during portrait time, so they got ear buds ;-)  Dalton and Neena’s Indian ceremony was truly stunning with low, romantic lighting, extravagant draping, and bold colors. So pretty!  Happy to be married! This is both mine and my sweet bride Mary Catherine’s favorite photo from their wedding day!  A “How well do you know the Mr & Mrs?” crossword puzzle for Brady and Michele’s guests…. LOVE!  A father daughter dance to rival all other dances! It was so fun!!  After the rain stopped…   A special request photo from the groom :)  A full dance floor all night long!  Tim Tyler tearing it up, as always!  Possibly the first place winner of “Epic Dance Moves of 2016” ;-)  One of my favorites from Eric and Elisa’s wedding day <3

WHEW!!  If you made it this far, I’m impressed!!  That was over 250 images! It’s a wonder I was able to narrow it down to just that many because ya’ll, I have ALOT of favorites from this year.

Looking through this blog post, it kind of feels sentimental to me… I feel like I’m a mom and all her children are all together in one place for the first time. Haha! As silly as that sounds, it really does feel like that! It makes my heart happy to see all my brides and grooms on one blog together :)

I hope you’ve enjoyed taking a trip down 2016 memory lane with me! I have loved every couple and every wedding we have had the opportunity to photograph in 2016 and I cannot wait to start photographing our 2017 couples’ weddings starting in March!

Have a safe and happy new year!  Bye 2016! You were awesome!
