We always love traveling outside of the North Alabama area for weddings. Tripp and Alex’s gorgeous wedding at The Sonnet House only made me love it even more! It was our first time shooting at The Sonnet House, believe it or not, and it lived up to all of my high expectations! What a stunning venue!
When we arrived, I was greeted by Alex’s wonderful bridemaids singing their hearts out, enjoying every moment of the getting ready portion of the day. It set the tone for the rest of the fun day we had in store for us! Alex and her father shared in a first look before Tripp got to see his beautiful bride at their first look. We had time to take their portraits and most of the wedding party portraits before we had little rainfall. But, The Sonnet House has fantastic white wrap around porches which meant that even though it started raining in the middle of bridesmaid portraits, we still had a gorgeous spot for their remaining photos! Yay!
Tripp and Alex said their vows in a Catholic ceremony at beautiful St. Mark the Evangelist Church just down the road. While we didn’t have any sun for Tripp and Alex’s “sunset photos”, but with a couple and venue this gorgeous, who needs the sun?! We still got some truly romantic evening photos which I’m kind of dying over. Love love love those shots!
The first dance as husband and wife under the stars and string lights, guests dancing the night away to the live band, Matt Carroll and the Browncats, and a lavender wedding departure (it smelled so good!) completed the perfect evening. I loved every moment of this wedding day. I feel so lucky to have worked with such an incredible staff at The Sonnet House (Ellen and Alan, ya’ll are phenominal!), one of the funnest (totally a word) wedding parties, wonderful family, and a dreamy, delightful bride and groom. Wow. We really are lucky photographers!
Tripp and Alex, thank you for just being a dream from day one. Seriously… we love both of you so much! What an honor it was to be a part of your story. We wish you absolutely nothing but true bliss as you start your marriage. Enjoy a few of my favorite photos from you perfect day! :)
A little Celine Dion concert courtesy of Alex’s wonderful bridesmaids :) I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I love father daughter first looks!! When the first look involves a twirl… <3 I love those post-ceremony happy bride and groom shots :) Props to Will for this shot! I died and went to string light heaven! <3 This portion of the reception made me SO happy, I can’t even describe it! To see them having so much fun with such energy, I could not stop smiling and laughing!! Favorite part of this photo below: Alex’s dad in the upper lefthand corner! Haha! :) Guests tossed lavender and it smelled magical!!
